# ShiftBridge V-Connect PBX — Sales Feature Guide

*An internal guide for the sales team: what the product is, what it does, and the
features that make it stand out. Written in plain language you can use directly
with prospects. Telecom jargon is translated into customer benefits throughout.*

---

## 1. The 30-second pitch

**V-Connect is a complete business phone system that runs in the cloud OR
on-premise.** It replaces the old phone box with a modern platform that handles
your calls, teams, call centre, mobile workforce, and automated outbound calling
— all from one clean web dashboard. The customer chooses where it lives: fully
hosted by us, or installed on their own server on-site. **Same software, same
features, same dashboard either way.**

> *"Enterprise phone-system power, without the enterprise complexity. Cloud or
> on-premise, secure, and built for teams that work from anywhere."*

If a prospect only remembers three things:
1. **Your choice of deployment** — cloud-hosted or on-premise, with the identical feature set.
2. **All-in-one** — phone system + call centre + automatic dialler + recording, not four separate products.
3. **Works anywhere, looks after itself** — desk/browser/mobile on one number, with built-in fraud protection and self-healing updates.

---

## 2. Why it stands out (the features to lead with)

These are the genuinely differentiating capabilities — the things most
competitors either charge extra for, bolt on clumsily, or simply don't have.

### ⭐ Cloud OR on-premise — the customer's choice
The exact same platform deploys two ways: **fully cloud-hosted by us**, or
**installed on the customer's own server on-site**. Same features, same dashboard,
same experience — the only difference is where it runs. That means a customer who
needs data to stay in-building (compliance, security policy, poor-internet
sites), or who already owns server hardware, isn't forced into the cloud — and a
customer who wants zero hardware can have it fully hosted. Many competitors are
cloud-only or on-prem-only; V-Connect does both, and customers can move between
them.
*Sales angle: meet the customer wherever they are — no deal lost because they
"can't put their phones in the cloud" or "don't want a server in the cupboard".*

### ⭐ Names everywhere, not just numbers
Across the whole system — call history, recordings, missed-call alerts, the call
centre, and the web phone — calls show **who** was on the line, not a meaningless
string of digits. Internal calls show the staff member's name; external calls are
matched against your phonebook and shown as **"Company – Name"** (e.g. *"My Glass –
John"*). This runs on an offline contact-name engine, so a customer's name pops up
on the screen the instant the phone rings.
*Sales angle: every customer interaction feels personal and professional, and
staff know who's calling before they answer.*

### ⭐ Click-to-dial from anywhere
Staff click a number on screen — in the call history, phonebook, or CRM-style
contact list — and their own phone rings first, then connects the customer. No
mis-dials, no copying numbers.

### ⭐ Outbound Campaign Dialler (flagship)
A full automated calling platform built in, with three modes (agent-initiated,
power/auto, and "blast then route to a team"), customer-experience pacing to
prevent nuisance calls, a Do-Not-Call list, smart callbacks, and proper campaign
reporting. **It uniquely separates "customers who answered" from "customers who
actually reached an agent"** — the metric most diallers quietly hide.
*Sales angle: turn a contact list into live conversations automatically. This is
a product other vendors sell as a standalone tool.*

### ⭐ Recording + AI transcription + quality tools
Every call can be recorded, then automatically **transcribed into searchable
text** with an AI summary, sentiment, and topic tags. Staff can score, tag, and
annotate calls for coaching, and email a recording (with the full transcript) in a
branded message. Every sensitive action — who listened, downloaded, transcribed,
or emailed — is logged for POPIA/GDPR-style compliance.
*Sales angle: quality assurance and compliance built in, not a third-party add-on.*

### ⭐ True web phone + mobile app
Make and take calls in the browser with nothing to install, or on a cellphone via
the mobile app — all on the same extension. The web phone now includes a
**searchable client phonebook** and a full **call history with names**, so a
technician on the road has the whole directory in their browser.
*Sales angle: remote and hybrid teams work exactly as if they were in the office.*

### ⭐ Microsoft Teams calling
Staff can make and receive normal business calls directly inside Microsoft Teams
(Direct Routing) — no separate app for the people who live in Teams all day.

### ⭐ Security that looks after itself
A built-in firewall, automatic blocking of attackers and toll-fraud attempts
(fail2ban), optional **country-level blocking (geo-firewall)**, and encrypted
calling. Updates are **self-healing** — they automatically repair common
configuration drift, so the system stays healthy without a technician babysitting
it.
*Sales angle: phone fraud can cost a business thousands overnight; this protects
them by default.*

whitelist of numbers that always get straight through.
- PIN-protected outbound calling — require a code before expensive/external calls.

### Call centre / "Teams"
- Professional inbound queues with fair call distribution, hold music, and
  position/announcement handling.
- **Agent login / logout & pause via feature codes** — agents sign in and out of
queues from any handset; their status updates live.
- **"Ring busy agents" control and answer-before-queue handling** — callers hear
greetings and music immediately rather than dead ringing.
- Live monitoring of queues, waiting callers, and agent status.
- Agent and supervisor consoles, plus a wallboard view.
- **Queue event capture for reporting** — the platform records queue activity
(calls offered, answered, wait times, agent events) so call-centre reporting,
wait-time analytics, and SLA dashboards can be built on real data.

### Outbound Campaign Dialler
- Three calling modes: agent-initiated, automatic-for-available-agents, and
"blast then route answered customers to a team".
- Customer-experience pacing — prevents abandoned/nuisance calls and auto-pauses
  when calls aren't connecting.
- "Answered vs connected" reporting (the honest metric).
- CSV/Excel contact import with validation, duplicate detection, and a
  confirmation summary before dialling.
- Do-Not-Call list with mid-call opt-out (auto-added).
- Smart callbacks bound to the original agent, with supervisor reassignment.
- Campaign dashboard, agent performance, call outcomes, and exportable reports.
- "Connecting you to an agent" greeting so customers never hit dead air.

### Recording, transcription & quality
- Always-on recording with a **genuine per-extension on/off** switch.
- Caller names on recordings (staff name internally, phonebook name externally).
- In-browser player with scrub and speed control, plus a full recording workspace.
- AI transcription with summary, sentiment, and topic tags.
- Score, tag, and annotate calls for coaching and compliance.
- Email a recording (with transcript) in a branded message.

### Contacts & caller ID
- **Phonebooks** — organise customer/contact lists, multiple books supported.
- **CSV import** with flexible headers, encoding handling, number normalisation,
  and duplicate handling.
- **Caller-ID name (CNAM) lookup** — incoming numbers resolve to "Company – Name"
on the phone and across the system, using an offline lookup so it's instant.
- **Per-phonebook "Show in webphone" toggle** — expose chosen phonebooks to
technicians' web phones for client lookups, while keeping others private.
- Speed dials and number blacklists.

### Mobility & remote work
- Mobile app provisioning (QR/credential setup) so staff use their work number on
  their phone.
- Browser web phone — nothing to install.
- Fully hosted **or on-premise** — remote and hybrid teams work like they're in
the office, wherever the system runs.

### Voicemail & messaging

- Voicemail-to-email with the audio attached.
- Missed-call email alerts.

### Administration & management
- Clean, modern web dashboard for extensions, trunks, routing, and users.

- **Audit logging** — every important change and every recording access recorded
  with who/what/when.
- One-click system updates from the dashboard.
- **Per-customer feature flags** — enable features per client, so each customer
gets exactly the plan they pay for.
- Scheduled database backups.
- Branded login console and dashboards.

### Security & reliability

## 5. Quick talking points & objection handling

- **"We already have a phone system."**
→ V-Connect replaces the hardware box with a modern platform — hosted by us or
on your own server — that also includes a call centre, an automatic dialler, and
call recording, usually replacing three or four separate products and their bills.

- **"We can't put our phone system / call data in the cloud."**
→ Then don't — V-Connect installs on-premise on your own server with the exact
same features and dashboard. Cloud is an option, not a requirement. (And if they
change their mind later, they can move.)

- **"We don't want a server in the cupboard."**
→ Then go fully hosted — we run it in the cloud, nothing on-site but the phones.
  Same system either way.

- **"Our staff work from home now."**
→ Same number on desk, browser, and mobile. Nothing to install for the web
phone. They keep working exactly as before, from anywhere.

- **"We're worried about call costs / fraud."**
→ Built-in firewall and automatic attacker blocking, plus optional country-level
blocking and PIN-protected outbound calling. Protection is on by default.

- **"We need to record calls for compliance."**
→ Every call recorded, transcribed, and searchable, with a full access log of
who listened, downloaded, or shared each recording — built for POPIA/GDPR.

- **"We do a lot of outbound calling."**
→ The built-in dialler turns a contact list into live conversations
automatically, with honest "answered vs connected" reporting and a Do-Not-Call
list. This is a standalone product for most vendors.

- **"Will it integrate with Microsoft Teams?"**
→ Yes — staff make and take normal business calls inside Teams.

- **"Who maintains it?"**
→ It's hosted and updates are self-healing, so it stays healthy without a
technician on standby. One-click updates from the dashboard.

## 7. Notes for the sales team

- **Feature availability is controlled per customer via feature flags.** Confirm
which tier each feature sits in before quoting — not every customer needs (or
pays for) the dialler, transcription, or call centre.
- **DECT cordless is still in development** — present as "coming soon", don't
  commit delivery dates.
- **AI transcription** may have usage/cost implications depending on volume —
check current packaging before promising "unlimited".
- Keep the language benefit-led: say **"team"** not "queue", **"automatic
calling"** not "predictive dialler", **"phone"** not "endpoint".
